Put on a paper bag* and we good 2 go baby.

OddmireAsh responds:

Don't need the paper bag, homie. Just don't get spooked

Dat face. The look of pure Nicholas Cage.

Marckel responds:

No one believes me when I say he plays every character ever

Dat ass. (nice drawing)

Phronemophobia responds:

I really wanted to find a simplified reference to have a faceplant pose with the ass straight in the air, but I used what I could find and my lack of talent made it all the worse. Still, I got a few chuckles out of my friends, especially from the one who loves the MGS series, and now that I can add your comment to that list, I suppose I upgrade this from being a (very) small victory to an average victory, right?

Thank you muchly, Alex.

Good linework, looks like Isabelle alright.

Phronemophobia responds:

I appreciate the kind words, but the lines are a total mess. I have far more trouble with recreating simplified styles than I do with some of the more challenging ones I've attempted in the past, and I'm guessing it's because the mistakes are easier to spot when there's not as much detail to try and hide them. On the plus side, my Isabelle looks just as ragged, if not worse, after a few solo matches online. If I view it that way, then, yes, the linework is excellent... and Isabelle needs a buff.

Thank you, HbK, for your supportive comments.

Praise to Lord Fulp. Fulp and Gaben 2020.

Phronemophobia responds:

Praise be to Tom Fulp! May he never become tainted by the corporate greed that has claimed so many other popular sites over the last twenty years!

(I'll praise Gaben again when I see an official Half-Life 3 released.)

Campy ninjas, can't say no to that.

Phronemophobia responds:

I mean, I guess I could, but it still wouldn't change the fact that the CPU is especially good at deflecting all of my projectiles. Seriously though, it's a fun game and the developer's a nice guy to chat with.

Thank you, Alex.

One on the right looks more polished.

Phronemophobia responds:

Yeah, I had a much easier time with Latisha, since I was able to play around with the reference material from a previous game. I didn't much care for Lewanda's original design from Panic on Funkotron, however, and her intentionally-simplified design on Back in the Groove meant I was going to stumble numerous times, just as I did with Isabelle. The biggest issues were the lips and trying to make her tube-like waist thin enough. The tail was removed to make it easier for the developers to finish Back in the Groove in a timely manner, but I added it back. I think she looks better with one.

Thank you for your honesty.
Have a swell day, night, and everything in between.

Now this is awesome.

Phronemophobia responds:

I know, right? I saw the dolls featured in a YT thumbnail and didn't think much of it at the time. Then, I met up with them while playing Crafted World for myself and there were a few intense encounters that truly caught me off guard. None of the other enemies in that game are even remotely spooky, especially compared to them. It's a cute platformer, but my first experience with those things was enjoyably creepy.

Thank you again, Alex.

Pretty cool. Retroactive 5/5 after reviewing your other works. The line-work and shading have a certain je ne sais quios that I want to see come back. I kinda want to see more non-colored in works with bold black lines. Kinky.

Phronemophobia responds:

He is... until MGS 4. Then, he becomes amazing!
